The Science Behind Elite Speed
Speed is not a gift — it is a system. We break it down to every millisecond, every degree, every force.

Why Mechanics Determine Speed
The difference between a good sprinter and a great one is rarely effort — it's mechanics. Elite sprinters apply force more efficiently, waste less energy on braking, and maintain optimal posture through every phase of the race. These are learnable, trainable skills — if you can measure them.
CompuSport's speed biomechanics and training analysis is built on four decades of research by Dr. Ralph Mann, who analyzed hundreds of Olympic and world-class sprinters to identify exactly what separates the fastest athletes from the rest. That research is now available to every athlete we work with.
Our system captures over 200 biomechanical variables per session using high-speed video at up to 1,000 frames per second, then runs that data through our proprietary AI to compare your mechanics against the ideal model for your event, body type, and performance level. The result is a precise, prioritized roadmap for getting faster.

Every Phase, Analyzed
Block Start & Drive Phase
The first steps of a sprint set the mechanical tone for everything that follows. We analyze block angles, shin angle at first push, hip extension, and the critical transition from horizontal to vertical force application — identifying inefficiencies that cost time before the race has barely begun.
Acceleration Phase
Acceleration is where most athletes leave the most time on the track. We measure body lean, stride length progression, ground contact time, and the rate of force development to identify exactly where your acceleration curve breaks down and what mechanical corrections will fix it.
Maximum Velocity
Top-end speed is governed by a precise set of mechanical variables: foot strike position relative to the center of mass, hip height, flight time, and the coordination of the swing leg. We quantify each one and compare it against elite benchmarks to show you exactly where speed is being lost.
Speed Endurance & Deceleration
Fatigue changes mechanics — and not always in the ways coaches expect. We analyze how your movement patterns shift under fatigue, identify the compensations that increase injury risk, and prescribe the specific training interventions that help you hold form when it matters most.
Your Speed Analysis Report
3D Model Comparison
Your mechanics are overlaid against the ideal model for your event and body type, giving you a clear visual reference for where your movement diverges from elite patterns and by how much.
Phase-by-Phase Breakdown
A detailed analysis of every sprint phase — start, acceleration, maximum velocity, and speed endurance — with specific mechanical findings, quantified deviations, and their performance implications.
Priority Corrections
Not all mechanical inefficiencies are equal. We rank your corrections by their projected impact on speed, so you and your coach know exactly where to focus training time for the greatest return.
Drill & Training Plan
Every finding is paired with specific exercises, drills, and coaching cues designed to address your individual mechanical deficits — a ready-to-implement plan your coach can use from day one.
